“The Final Destin-ation”
IF you are a “foodie” traveling to Destin, this is the place for you. The waiter was extremely knowledgable, he was able to tell us his favorites as well as how each dish is prepared and where the main dishes’ components were shipped from. One of the websites we looked at said ‘ casual dining’ which it really wasn’t. The atmosphere was upscale yet understated. Our party of four opted for the venison dish, seabass, tuna, and roasted chicken and everyone was more than pleased with the entrees. The eggplant appetizer was unbelievably good! Amazing!!! Also, Cuvee had a decanter of sorts for the oil for the fresh bread and inside of it was the MOST amazing balsamic vinegar the waiter added to the cheese spice mixture. I’m no wine expert but the wine selection was vast and prices seemed to be reasonable for the quality of food and service. Make sure to check out the chef’s herb garden behind the restaurant and the fountain outside surrounded by wine corks. I wish there were less cigarette butts all over the place but that’s something I have noticed all over Destin. I could go ON and ON about how fabulous this place is, but I will stop. If you are visiting Destin and you love food, this is the place to go.

This was one of my favorite tastes of our Memorial Day trip to Destin. Karen (our hostess with the mostest) and I managed to slip away by ourselves for an hour while the menfolk were jetskiing to this lovely, tranquil, European-style bistro less than a mile from her house (some people have all the luck!). We only stayed for wine and a couple of tapas, but what little we had was SO wonderful.
Perusing the bar menu over a cool glass of Hess Chardonnay:
At her recommendation, we shared Creehan’s Eggplant with Crabmeat, Garlic, Meuniere Sauce & Hollandaise. Now it was MY turn to find nirvana! The eggplant was tender and perfect, the lump crabmeat was sweet and plentiful, and I wanted to lick that sauce right off of the plate
We also ordered Kendall Brooks Smoked Salmon with Horseradish Aioli, Crispy Capers & Rosemary Foccacia Bread which similarly rocked our respective tastebuds.
Note to self: Be nice to Ed and Karen so they’ll invite you back one day and you can all go to dinner at Cuvee Bistro. ![]()
